A sophisticated and page-turning debut novel about a young American woman’s coming-of-age in Paris. It’sthe Berlin Wall is coming down, and Kate has just graduated from Yale, eager to pursue her dreams as a fledgling painter/5. Lessons in French is a feel-good story.

I wrote it after a long period of writing very intense and sometimes very dark books like Shadowheart, when I was ready to do something different. Lessons in French is like that movie you go see at Christmas.

The one that doesn’t ask any hard questions, but makes you laugh, and be glad to take a break. If you’re a beginner in French, my top recommendation is French Uncovered my in-depth online French course for beginners that teaches you through the power of story.

This is both a French course and book all in one. And best of all, the First lessons in French. book is especially for beginners you can enjoy your reading without feeling overwhelmed.

Loved my first lesson with Clément. An hour of conversation in which he immediately identified my ability to comprehend and to speak, and then gently challenged me to rise to a higher level. He kept meticulous notes on vocabulary, expressions, errors and corrections.

You might think “public domain” means “boring” or “irrelevant.”. I appreciate this edition of "My First French Book". It includes a wide variety of vocabulary and categories. It is organized well and the images are appealing.

It is bright and colorful as well. The only suggestion would be to include the pronunciation notes on each page with the words.

Overall, I would recommend this book for learning s:   When my book club chose French Lessons, I was pretty happy, because I have read a couple of other books of his and really liked them.

“French as a Foreign Language for expats of all ages” As a teacher of FFL to English-speaking expats in France, I have used - and recommended - this great little book time and time again, and not only for youngsters. A lot more fun than language books to start off and make any beginner feel confident and want to know more.
